Yes, she's a robot killing machine designed to destroy shadows, and yes, she has the Wild Card. Who's left? Well, while the pool of World-users is smaller, there are far more users of the Wild Card to consider.įirst off, following in Makoto's footsteps is everyones' favorite toaster Aigis. So the other World arcana users are either being a Door or require the spirits of Hope, Goodwill, and Spite the hopes of Tokyo to use said arcana. While Joker is still pretty damn strong, this puts him closer to the following contenders. Satanael is formed from the hopes of Tokyo, SMTIV style, so it's pretty clear in-universe why he can't use it anymore, ignoring the whole NG+ stuff that isn't canon (unless you're the Golden Animation). However, following his use of Satanael to Yaldabaoth, he loses the capability to summon it, as shown in the third semester of Persona 5: Royal. The other user of the World arcana is everyone's favorite nasty crime boy Akira Kurusu, in the form of Satanael. But he's too busy being the final guardian of all of humanity's souls, so he's out. Igor says that with the Universe arcana he can do basically anything. We don't exactly know what this means or how it's different from the World, but for the purposes of this argument: it doesn't matter! Makoto is as dead as a door knob, literally. First off is Makoto Yuki of P3, who technically didn't actually use the World arcana OR a Persona to pull off the Door-ening, but instead the Universe Arcana. There are two other instances of this happening. Yu is not the only user to summon a World persona. A couple other contenders will also be mentioned. There's only *two* possible exceptions to these and they will be covered shortly. Personas of the World Arcana are on a completely different level of power from any other Persona and essentially function as a "Get Fucked" button to whoever they're used against. This is shown in Persona 4 Arena, where his special finisher animation (I don't know the technical term for it) is him summoning Izanagi-no-Okami and blasting the opponent with Myriad Truths. It's easy: he is the only Persona user who can consistently summon a Persona of the World Arcana on command. I'll be going over why I think this to be the case as well as considering the other top contenders and why I think they don't beat out our beloved golden boy.įirst, I promised to give a really simple reason as to why I think Yu is the strongest. Let's get to the point: Yu "Chad" Narukami is the strongest living Persona user. The female protagonist from P3P is functionally identical to Makoto Yuki lore- and power-wise, so any statements about him should hold true for her as well. The names I'm using for the P3, P4, and P5 protagonists are Makoto Yuki, Yu Narukami, and Akira Kurusu respectively, because they're the name I like. If I'm wrong and something in those completely derails this argument, well, please let me know, but be merciful about it.Īlso this won't be considering P2, P1, Trinity Soul, that one weird Naoto detective manga, the Dancing games, or any other really fringe stuff or things that obviously don't take place in the same universe as P3, P4, and P5. Please do not continue if you don't want these games spoiled for you!Īlso, while I have not beaten The Answer, the Arena games, or the Royal version of P5, I'm completely spoiled on them and I don't think I missed any important details that would contradict the arguments made in this post. Important plot points, reveals, and villains will be discussed in this post. HUGE spoilers for Persona 3, Persona 3 FES - The Answer, Persona 4 Golden, Persona 4 Arena, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, and Persona 5 Royal. Hello random people, I'm here to prove to you why Yu Narukami is the strongest living Persona user, and it's all thanks to one animation in Persona 4 Arena.
